Each October, Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion assembles an extensive collection of area artists who specialize in handcrafted pieces and artwork offering visitors a unique shopping experience. Presented by the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau, this year’s edition will take place Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pearland Town Center Pavilion, 11200 Broadway Street.
Visitors can get a jump on holiday shopping with an amazing selection of quality pieces by locally curated artists at the FREE, two-day event. In addition to exceptional shopping, a Food Truck Court, Wine Bistro, Live Music presented by Kroger,Chalk Art by Pearland area artists, Kid’s Interactive Art Station, and a Pop-Up Paint Studio presented by Art & Kustom Kreations will be part of the festivities.
“We’re introducing the Wine Bistro featuring Pearland’s Dionisio Winery at this year’s Pearland Art & Crafts on the Pavilion. The Wine Bistro will be open from noon to 5 p.m. both days offering guests an opportunity to purchase wine by the glass including the signature Pear & Simple variety created for Pearland,” according to Kim Sinistore, executive director of the Pearland Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Another added element includes the Pop-Up Paint Studio presented by Pearland’s own Art & Kustom Kreations. Visitors can enjoy paint instruction sessions for a separate ticket admission. Two, 30-minute sessions will be offered on Saturday geared to children from 5 to 10 years old priced at $15. Adults can choose from a 1-hour session on Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon priced at $25.
Courageous Band takes the stage on Saturday with special featured guests on the Live Music Stage presented by Kroger. On Sunday, 4 Barrel Ramblers play an acoustic set followed by Pearland’s own Modulation Band.
The Food Truck Court rolls in to the show for both days and features area local favorites including D’Lish Curbside Bistro, Nom Mi Street, Space City Spudz, and Chilly Willy’s Shaved Ice.
Keep Pearland Beautiful and the Global Organization for Divinity will keep the kids busy creating take-home art projects at the Kid’s Interactive Art Station open both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artist applications are still being accepted for the juried art show. Artists who specialize in creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces are encouraged to apply, via an online application Pearland Art & Crafts 2016 exhibitor application.
