Kroger purse snatchers caught in Friendswood
A 45-year old Pearland woman was robbed while loading groceries into her vehicle at the Kroger store located at 151 N. Friendswood Drive. The robbery occurred at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The victim walked out of the Kroger store and was attempting to unlock her vehicle door when she was pushed from behind and her purse was stolen.
The victim was carrying her purse on her shoulder when Jason Jarrod Wilkerson, 20, of Houston, attacked her from behind and pushed her so hard she lost balance. Wilkerson snatched the purse and then jumped into the passenger side of a four-door silver car with paper tags, driven by Steven Earl Brown, 19, of Houston. Several witnesses saw what happened and provided a description and a direction of travel for the suspect vehicle.
Friendswood Police located the suspect vehicle on Castlewood at Misty Lane. A witness and the victim positively identified Wilkerson as the man who snatched the purse. The men still had the victim’s cell phone at the time of their arrest and the victim’s purse was found several hours later in the 500 block of N. Shadowbend.
Wilkerson and Brown are charged with Robbery. Their bonds are set at $40,000
