Green Light A Vet This Veterans Day
Everyone has heard about lighting up gold for childhood cancer lighting up blue for Autism. Well this year consider a green light for a vet.
What does it mean to green light a vet? According to the official website “America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. However, it’s hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. Greenlight A Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.”
We all know who to thank when they are wearing their uniforms, but can you identify a vet when they are in their suit, on the morning train going to work. Probably not. This is a great way to show that support to all of the service members out there who are the Clark Kents, blending in with the civilians.
The idea is to change one light to green as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans. “Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement.”
Even if you cannot green light every day, please consider green lighting a vet this Veteran’s Day to show your support for our service members both in and out of uniform.
