This year, Keep Pearland Beautiful will be celebrating America Recycles Day on Saturday November 14, 2015 at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center 5800 Magnolia, Pearland, TX  77584 from 9AM – 1PM.

On America Recycles Day only, the Recycling Center will be collecting car and light truck tires from Pearland residents only (a City of Pearland utility bill must be provided as proof of residency). No businesses or municipalities please! No tires on rims, foam filled, or solid tires are accepted. There is a limit of 8 tires per household; additional tires will be $4 each (tires from non-residents are also $4 each).

In addition to tires, KPB will also be collecting used mattresses for recycling. Every year in the Houston metropolitan area enough mattresses are sent to landfills to fill two NRG Stadiums.  In landfills, mattresses are bulky, hard to compress, and metal parts are hard on the machinery.  So, even though mattresses can often be thrown out during heavy trash day or taken by the furniture delivery service, there is no guarantee that these mattresses will not end up in a landfill, when in fact they can be recycled.  So plan on bringing your old mattress to the Stella Roberts Recycling Center to be recycled by the Houston Furniture Bank.
