Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter the  4th annual City Calendar Photo Contest. The annual photo contest encourages citizen involvement and showcases Pearland’s quality of life. 

Submit an original photo of Pearland to participate. Photos must be taken in Pearland city limits within two years of the contest year. Winning photos will be used in the Calendar & Annual Report and may be used in other City of Pearland communication pieces and on the City Web site. Read more here.

Amendments are being proposed to the City of Pearland’s Thoroughfare Plan. Last updated in March 2014, the Plan is a transportation planning tool that identifies and classifies thoroughfares in the city that will support the City’s development goals and mobility along with connectivity throughout the City. The plan is instrumental in identifying and prioritizing projects for the 5-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP).

The City’s amends the Plan periodically based on development activity, land use studies and environmental issues.  Read more on the proposed amendments.

The City of Pearland is currently in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides public policy in terms of transportation, utilities, land use, recreation, housing, economic development and others. Having a plan provides the City with the opportunity to address issues related to growth and service provision in a proactive, coordinated manner that promotes the health, safety and general welfare of residents.

The 2015 Builders Forum is scheduled for Friday, July 31 from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. Attend the forum to hear from various City departments including the Fire Marshal, Planning, Code Enforcement and Community Development.
