New program to encourage residents to clear traffic warrants
The City of Pearland has entered into an agreement with Brazoria County Tax Assessor-Collector to implement a Scofflaw Program. Under the Scofflaw program, the Brazoria County Tax Assessor-Collector will deny vehicle registration to individuals with outstanding traffic tickets, warrants, failures to appear, or fines owed to the City of Pearland Municipal Court. The program provides the City with another resource to clear outstanding warrants and comes at no cost to taxpayers. Upon payment of fines and court costs, the City will recall all warrants for the individual and provide documentation to the individual allowing for vehicle registration. Read more.
