This route extension serves residents from Houston, Pearland, Friendswood, Alvin, League City and beyond. An extension between Oiler Dr. and Dixie Farm Rd. is currently under construction, which will provide a more direct access to State Highway 35 south without putting additional traffic on FM518.

The construction project extends Pearland Parkway approximately 4,500 feet from 500 feet east of Oiler Drive to Dixie Farm Road. The extension is scheduled to be complete in April 2015.
