If you notice a bump in this month’s water bill it’s not a misprint. During the Pearland City Council’s discussions leading up to the adoption of the 2014-2015 budget, it was decided that the city’s water rates would be increased.

Residents were sent out a notice on Sept. 29 informing them of this hike, which went into effect when the new fiscal year started on Oct 1.

Residents that use less than 2,000 gallons per month will not be affected and the groups that will see the most increase are multi-use residences and commercial businesses.
