Pearland firefighters are “Out to Alarm Texas” |
The Pearland Fire Department is among 40 Texas fire departments installing smoke alarms into the homes of low-income and elderly residents this year thanks to theWe’re Out to Alarm Texas smoke alarm campaign.
Through the statewide campaign, which is a partnership between the City and the Insurance Council of Texas, the Pearland Fire Department is providing free smoke alarms to residents based on their financial or physical need. During the installation period, Pearland firefighters will also identify possible fire hazards within the home. Pearland’s population reaches more than 108,000 |
The City of Pearland population reached 108,800 residents in July 2014 – an increase of 2,300 over the past six months. The last population estimate from the U.S. Census Bureau was in July 2013 and estimated Pearland’s population at 100,065.
The City’s estimates vary from the Census estimates, as they are based on actual building permits issued by the City. Click here for more information.

The Communications Department recently released a video feature highlighting the City’s mobile app – Connect2Pearland. The application provides users the ability to report a variety of issues including potholes, broken curbs, dead animals and more.

Attend the Pearland Veterans Day Walk & BBQ |
Lace up those running shoes and join us for the Pearland Veterans Day Walk & BBQ scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the field behind the Pearland Natatorium located at 8181 Bailey Road, Pearland, Texas 77584.Following the walk, a hearty BBQ lunch will be served around 12:30 p.m. at VFW Post #7109 located nearby at 4204 W. Walnut. The registration fee for the walk is $15 per person. For the walk and the lunch, the fee is $20 per person. Click here for more information.
