City Manager Clay Pearson presents Proposed Budget |
Pearland City Manager, Clay Pearson presented City Council with the Proposed Budget and Multi-Year Forecast for Fiscal Year 2014 – 2015 and the proposed Capital Improvement Program budget for 2015-2019. The proposed budget and Capital Improvement Program information can be viewed online. The budget will be reviewed with City Council through a series of workshops continuing on Monday, Aug. 18 at Pearland City Hall, 3519 Liberty Dr. Pearland, Texas 77581. Meeting agendas will be posted online. |
Contract approved for major active recreation park |
Pearland City Council passed a measure to fund construction services associated with a sports complex at Shadow Creek Ranch Park. The acceptance of the $6.5 million bid authorizes construction to begin on the park located north of Shadow Creek Parkway and west of Kingsley Drive. Shadow Creek Ranch Park is a City of Pearland Capital Improvement Project that was approved by voters in the 2007 bond election. Initial construction includes three softball fields, four baseball fields, and one soccer practice field. The park is expected to open in late 2015. Read more.

City closer to final construction on McHard Road

Residents in the City are closer to seeing final construction crews on McHard Road since the Pearland City Council approved a contract for the final design phase of the road. The design and environmental work will start in the coming weeks and after that, land acquisition will begin, which will be followed by construction. The process can take up to three years before the construction begins. As part of the City’s Capital Improvement Program, the McHard Road project will extend approximately 3.5 miles of McHard Road, from Cullen Parkway to Mykawa Road, constructing a 4-lane, concrete, curb and gutter, divided roadway with raised medians. Pearland libraries provide opportunities for everyone |
Pearland has two libraries in Pearland and both have a lot to keep residents of all ages engaged. The Anti-Book Club and Library After Hours Game Night are just a couple of the events being hosted.
This fall has been themed Gulf Coast Reads, an initiative aimed at encouraging everyone in the community to read the same book! The offering is a collaborative effort between the Brazoria County, Harris County and Houston Public Library Systems. Click here for more information on the City’s libraries. |
