Fall Registration Begins This Month! |
The City of Pearland Parks & Recreation offers dozens of seasonal programs, events and activities for every age to enjoy! Our Fall registration session begins with Member Registration on Monday, August 4 at 7:30 a.m., followed by General Registration on Monday, August 11 at 7:30 a.m. Programs may be viewed online at pearlandparks.com. Recreation Center & Natatorium Birthday Bash! |
The Recreation Center and Natatorium (RCN) is turning 4 and we are inviting everyone to the party! Come out to the RCN on Saturday, August 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the 4th Annual Birthday Bash! On this special admission-free day, you can stroll down the RCN Boardwalk and see what you’ve been missing in your own backyard! During the party, enjoy inflatable bouncers, free activities designed for all ages, abilities and interests and a live demonstration from our own Houston Wheelchair Rugby team!
Then, end the day waterlogged by testing your skills leap-frogging on the giant lily pads in the Natatorium. Texas Hunter Education Certification Program Offered |
Hunting is safe and getting safer through a hunter certification program offered by the City of Pearland Parks & Recreation! The Texas Hunter Education certification program covers the skills, regulations and responsibilities of hunting, conservation, wildlife management and identification, and more. In addition, program participants get instruction in ethics and firearm safety to help keep everyone safe while in nature. The certification lasts a lifetime and is recognized by all states and provinces requiring hunter education. This course is particularly suited to novice or young hunters. Courses are held at the Recreation Center & Natatorium, located at 4141 Bailey Road at Veterans Drive, and take place in a single class session from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For participation restrictions and course information, contact Kendrick Gray, Outdoor Recreation Specialist.

Exploring Youth Archery is Right on Target! |
The new Explore Archery program is a bulls-eye perfect fit for youth participants between the ages of 8 and 18 of any ability who want to get involved in the sport of target archery. Youth archery is on an exciting path of growth, having been showcased in popular movies such as The Hunger Games, Marvel’s Avengers, and Disney’s Brave.
The program is hosted at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center, located at 5800 Magnolia, on Thursdays this fall, from 6 to 7 p.m. The cost of the program is $45 for Pearland residents, $65 for non-residents. Annual Natatorium Maintenance Closure Scheduled |
From August 4 through August 6, the Natatorium side of the Recreation Center & Natatorium, located at 4141 Bailey Road at Veterans Drive, for facility upkeep in order to clean and maintain the facility as our customers have come to expect. As with past maintenance closures, only the Natatorium side of the facility will be closed during the week. The diving boards will be closed for one additional day, August 7. The Recreation Center will remain open for members and guests.
The anticipated re-opening is Thursday, August 7, just in time for the annual Birthday Bash on Saturday, August 9! For more information, visit the Facility Closures page.

Recreational Youth Basketball League |
Register for the Pearland Recreational Youth Basketball League from August 11 until November 7. Participation is open to both boys and girls ages 7 to 14 years old (as of January, 2015). Participants must register as individual players. No team registrations will be accepted. Houston Rockets Mini Dribblers |
Train with expert coaches from the National Basketball Academy and experience all the fun and excitement of being associated with an NBA team! The Houston Rockets Mini Dribblers is a 6-week long instructional program for children in grades K-3, designed to introduce and teach the FUN-damentals of basketball in a unique, exciting and educational way. As a bonus, the Rockets Mini Dribblers will get to perform in front of thousands of fans before a Rockets basketball game! The program is hosted at the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium, located at 4141 Bailey Road at Veterans Drive, and held on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 2:15 p.m. The cost of the program is $105 per child.
