Adult Reading Center Begins Planning of the 2nd Annual Red Carpet Gala
The excitement is in the air at the Adult Reading Center. The anticipation for the 2nd Annual Red Carpet Gala keeps building as the Committee meets twice a month and engages our local community. October 11th is closer than we might think!
To give you an idea of the importance of the Gala for our Center: the fundraising events hosted by us represent over 17% of our total annual income. At the first event, the Red Carpet Gala raised close to $15,000, exceeding all expectations. Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $25,000, which will be used towards funding the Center’s free English literacy, GED, workforce development, citizenship, andcomputer literacy programs.
It is no secret that the work done by volunteers is a huge asset to our organization. We take pride in every hour our community spends at the Center and invests in our adult learners. And it won’t be any different with the Gala. The majority of the Red Carpet Gala Committee is composed of volunteers who are engaged and take pride in planing a successful event. We know that the 2nd Annual Red Carpet Gala is going to be a great one!
We have already received the confirmation of sponsorships from Frost Bank, A & A Cleaning, A-Better Plumbing, Congressman Olson, Senator Taylor and Rep. Thompson. Don’t worry: there is still plenty of time to support the Center. Make sure to visit our website today to purchase your tickets or submit your sponsorship.
We look forward to seeing you in your fancy outfit at the Hilton Garden Inn at 7 p.m. on October 11, ready to have a great night of gambling in our casino tables, dancing to our D.J., and sharing our passion for literacy.
