The Pearland Fire Department wants teens to drive safe |
As a part of the National Emergency Medical Services Week which celebrates and honors the hundreds of thousands of EMS practitioners serving our communities across the nation, the Pearland Fire Department will host a special Teen Drivers Safety activity at the City’s upcoming Summerfest Concert on Friday, May 23 beginning at 7 p.m. at Southdown Park. During the activity, participants will learn the importance of not texting or drinking while driving. The activity will also highlight the risks of distracted driving. Additionally, the Fire Department will have a seat belt simulator to show the importance of regular seat belt use. For more information, click here. |
Attend the Brazoria County Hurricane Preparedness Expo |
Gulf Coast residents are encouraged to participate in the free Community Hurricane Preparedness Expo on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Angleton Fair Grounds, located at 901 S. Downing in Angleton.
Experts on a wide range of topics for hurricane preparedness will give information on: storm surge, crisis management, tropical weather prediction, home preparation, tree stress, special needs issues, and weather data collection. Contact Brazoria County for event details. |
Pearland Animal Adoption Center hosts volunteer orientation |
Animal enthusiasts are invited to get involved with Pearland Animal Adoption Center by attending a volunteer orientation on Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at the City of Pearland Animal Control and Adoption Center located at 2002 Old Alvin Road.
If you are 18 years old or older, you are invited to attend the approximately 1½ hour orientation to learn more about this important volunteer opportunity.
