Wednesday, April 16th at 7pm — Lighthouses of Texas presented by author Steph McDougal.Lighthouses of Texas chronicles lighthouse history in the state from when Texans won their independence from Mexico in 1836 to modern automated lighthouses of the twentieth century.
Thursday, April 17th at 6:20pm — Movie Night with Summer Stock starring Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, and Eddie Bracken. Directed by Charles Walters in 1950. This film is not rated and runs 108 minutes.
Wednesday, April 23rd at 7pm — “Soldiers, scholars and poets of WWI” The Rev. Dr. Crawford will give a presentation on the lives and works of the extraordinary men who served in WWI and how they struggled with the devastation of that war. A number of these young men wrote extraordinary poems, letters and prose as they wrestled with death, dying and destruction. Mark Crawford earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Monday, May 5th from 6 – 8pm — Art Exhibit Reception. Come meet local artist Regina Lee Parkinson and view her artwork. Refreshments provided. Artwork will be on display through the end of June. Artist Regina Lee Parkinson creates paintings and mixed media work rich in color, place and story. Her piece entitled “Daring Beauty” received first place in the mixed media category at the Galveston Art League Spring Juried Show in May 2012. Her work is in private collections around the world. Parkinson works as a full-time artist. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in counseling. Read New Art Exhibit featuring Regina Lee Parkinson
