Clay Pearson named City Manager

Pearland City Council announced the appointment of a new City Manager. Clay Pearson will join the City beginning Monday, March 10.

“During his career, Pearson gained a broad overview and understanding for the varied operations of City government and has a strong vision of what needs to be accomplished in the future,” said Mayor Tom Reid. “I’m confident that Pearson will be an outstanding City Manager,” Reid continued.

Pearson comes to Pearland from the City of Novi, MI, where he served as the City Manager since July 2006 after serving as Assistant City Manager since September 2000. Prior to that, Pearson served the City of Elgin, Illinois for more than a decade in various capacities, including Assistant City Manager. Click here to view the complete release.

Mayor updates City during Annual State of the City address

Mayor Tom Reid will update the Pearland City Council, city staff and the community about recent city accomplishments and outline his plans for the upcoming year during his annual State of the City address scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2014 at First United Methodist Church located at 2314 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581 from 11:30 to 1 p.m.

Daddies and Daughters invited to City event

Don’t miss the opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime! On Feb. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., daddies and daughters are invited to attend Daddy Daughter Date Night, a special once-a-year evening devoted to the relationship and bonds between father and daughter. The event’s theme, “A Candy-Land Adventure” is sure to leave sweet lasting memories as Pearland Junior High South is transformed into a magical land of gumdrops, candy canes and lollipops. There will be dancing, contests, desserts and a photo area where our photographer will take commemorative photos. Couples are $30, with additional siblings added for only $10 more.
