PISD Offers Emergency Text Alerts
During wintry weather and other situations that may cause school closings or delays, Pearland Independent School District offers SMS text messaging as an additional avenue for emergency communication.
Parents should ensure that their contact information is up to date. If your contact information changes during the school year, please update it immediately by calling your child’s school office or logging into Skyward Family Access to make changes.
Instructions for Subscribing to Text Messaging:
- Log onto Skyward Family Access.
- Under the “Student Information” tab, hover over the “Request Changes for your student(s)” link on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Click on the “Family Information” link.
- In the drop-down boxes for phone numbers, enter your cell phone number as “Cell.” Click “Save” to make your changes. If a number is listed in the cell field, you will receive text messages to that number.
When receiving a welcome text message, parents wishing to opt out of future messages should send only a text reply with the words “STOP PISD.” Or for more information, text reply “HELP.” Once opted out, a phone number will not receive any future text messages from the district’s system.
All confirmation text messages and alerts will come from 23177 or 63079. Please save this number as Pearland ISD so you can quickly recognize it as the official source of the messages.
