Pine Hollow HOA Board Repeals Election Guidelines
The Pine Hollow HOA Board has repealed the election guidelines that were established to ensure proper notification and fairness in elections. The Board has repealed these election guidelines (filed document in Brazoria County on January 14, 2014) without establishing new election guidelines nor giving any deadline to create a new document.
The original Election Guidelines were developed based on the suggestion of current Board Members. Why can’t the Election Guidelines be updated to reflect the changes in the State statues. The current Board Members insisted that Election Guidelines be adopted, however, these same Board Members are not holding themselves to the same standards that they expected previous Boards to be held to. How fair can our elections be? Where is the transparency in the Pine Hollow HOA?
So now the current Pine Hollow HOA Board is free to do whatever they want to since there are no Election Guidelines. Now the Board, as demonstrated in the last May election, can change the rules at whatever whim that the Board wants to without notice to the Association. Even changing the rules at the Election itself.
First the Board declares power over the bylaws, now they declare that they do not need to follow any Election Guidelines. What will be next? How is this putting HOMEOWNERS FIRST? Why don’t the Association Members have any input into the governance of our community? Why are we not being notified that the governance is changing before the final vote?
