Pearland is looking for … a few good citizens
The Pearland Police Department will begin another Citizen’s Police Academy session on Feb. 6. The 12-week class meets on Thursdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Pearland Public Safety and Municipal Courts Building located at 2555 Cullen Parkway. Class space is limited, so register soon. The Citizen’s Police Academy strives to foster better communication between citizens and police through education. Academy graduates will gain greater insight into police practices and services and be able to share their knowledge and experiences with the community as the opportunity arises. Everyone benefits from enhancing citizen understanding of the role and function of the police department.

- Arrest, Search & Seizure
- SWAT & Negotiations
- Officer Survival
- Criminal Investigations
- Mock Traffic Stops/ Building Searches
- Crime Prevention

The Academy is a free program open to all residents age 18 or older (17 years of age if attending with a family member) that live or work in the Pearland area. Applicants are subject to a background check and must not have a misdemeanor “B” conviction or greater.
