With the holiday season upon us, many of us turn to the internet to do a lot of our holiday shopping.  What is easier than going on-line, ordering our gifts and having them delivered directly to our house.  No crowds to fight and the simplicity of having everything delivered to our houses.

Well this is the time that criminals strike, especially during this holiday season.  UPS and other delivery company just leave the packages on our front door steps if no one is home.   Some of those packages left on our front door steps are stolen by thieves each year.  (Nothing like the Grinch stealing your holiday packages.) So if you are having packages delivered and you know you are not typically home to receive deliveries, you might want to consider the following options:

• Do you have a neighbor/relative who is typically home during the day that can receive the packages for you?
• Do you have a neighbor/relative who can stop by your house and pick up any packages that might be left on the door step?
• Can you have the packages delivered to your place of work?

Another good idea is to watch the package tracking so you know when to expect your packages.
