Join us for Zoo Boo on Fridays! Visit the Houston Zoo between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for your favorite Zoo Boo activities, including the Fiesta Mart Pumpkin Patch, the Monster Mural, and, of course, candy!
We’re inviting all little ghouls and goblins to celebrate Halloween at the Houston Zoo with activities that are fun for the whole family. We encourage all kids to come dressed in their spookiest or prettiest Halloween costume!

NEW FOR 2013: The Candy Cave*

No tricks, just treats! The bat cave is overflowing with larger-than-life candy! Feast your eyes on peppermints, candies, and lollipops bigger than your head! This is a Halloween treat you won’t want to miss.
*Candy in the Candy Cave is not edible.
Fiesta Mart Pumpkin Patch

On the lawn between Elephants and Gerenuk
Zoo Boo will also once again feature the Fiesta Mart Pumpkin Patch. Little ghouls and goblins can pick out their very own child-sized pumpkin (while supplies last) and paint it into a Halloween jack-o-lantern! Overflowing with pumpkins, this is also the perfect spot for photographs.

Are you brave enough to feel what’s inside? Learn interesting animal facts as you try and guess what’s in the mystery box!
Rules for Zoo Boo
Zoo Boo is a family-friendly event; all costumes must be appropriate for all ages.
Adults must leave their face clearly visible at all times – adults in heavy makeup or masks will not be allowed into the Zoo.
Restricted items include but are not limited to:
- Weapons of any kind (swords, knives, galactic blasters, etc.)
- Fireworks of any kind
- Excessively gory or non-family friendly props or items
- Inflatable objects
