Keep Pearland Beautiful will be celebrating Texas Recycles Day on Saturday November 16, 2013 at the Stella Roberts Recycling Center from 9AM – 1PM. On Texas Recycles Day only, the Recycling Center will be collecting tires from cars and light trucks from Pearland residents only (a City of Pearland water bill must be provided as proof of residency). No businesses or municipalities please! Tires on rims, foam filled, or solid tires will not be accepted. There is a limit of 8 tires per household; additional tires will be $5 each.

Keep Pearland Beautiful will also be launching a one-day pilot program to recycle #6 plastics (polystyrene, styrofoam, hard plastics). The plastics can be dropped off at the Recycle Center on Texas Recycles Day, during normal business hours only.

In addition, Keep Pearland Beautiful will also be collecting pet items for donation to the Pearland Animal Shelter. A complete list of items acceptable for donation are listed below:

• Kitty Litter (Non-clumping-cheap)
• Kitten food
• Iams, Purina One, Science Diet, etc.
• Puppy food
• Purina One, Pedigree, Nutro, Science Diet, etc.
• Dog/Cat food
• We prefer Iams, Purina One, Science Diet, Pedigree brand pet foods
• Bath Wash clothe and Bath Towel (clean, used ones are okay)
• Laundry detergent, dish washer detergent, and Dawn dish soap are needed also.
• Pet Beds
• Small or Medium pet taxis / crates (Used is great too!!!\
• TOYS:  Balls, Rawhide, Chew toys- no stuffed animals please. The dogs tear them up and eat them which can make them sick.
• Dog treats
• Stainless steel food dishes of all sizes for cats and dogs.
