Seniors, 55+, looking for something to do this summer in order to get out of the heat.  Did you ever consider Pearland’s Knapp Center, located at 2424 S. Park Ave (281-485-9875), for a day of great activities and meeting new people?  One resident refers to the Knapp Center as a “55+ club house but without the tennis and golf.”  Best of all, the Knapp Center is FREE for residents.

There is something for everyone at the Knapp Center. The Knapp Center encourages you to drop in and take classes, exercise or just socialize with friends. The Knapp Center offers a cool/safe walking club at the Recreation Center (Indoor Track) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-9:00 however you must be a member of the Knapp Senior Center to participate.  If you play cards (Skip-Bo, Phase 10, Pinochle, etc.), dominos or other table games are available.  There are all other kinds of crafts, special events and exercise classes available

The center also offers lunch to those 60+ who live in Brazoria County provided by ActionS.  Lunches are served daily at approximately 11:30 a.m. and require a reservation with the center by 10 a.m. the day before you plan to have lunch. Those wishing to utilize the lunch program must also be approved through ActionS in order to receive lunch.
