Message from the City of Pearland: Leave the fireworks to us!
The City of Pearland Fire Marshal would like to remind Pearland residents that open burning and the use of and/or possession of fireworks is strictly prohibited within the city limits of Pearland and the surrounding Pearland Extraterritorial Jurisdiction which includes all areas normally serviced by the Pearland Fire Department. Due to the extreme heat conditions we are currently experiencing, dry vegetation has started accumulating in our area which has increased the potential for grass and woodland fires which can cause major property damage as well as having the potential to cause injury and death. The possession and/or use of prohibited fireworks or open burning in these areas is a class C misdemeanor which can carry a fine of up to $2,000 per violation. As a safe alternative, the City of Pearland will be hosting its annual Celebration of Freedom to be held at the Pearland High School starting at 6:30 p.m. We encourage you to come out and join us for a fun and safe celebration of the Fourth of July.
If you have any questions regarding this advisory or need to know if you are in an area affected by this ban, please contact the Pearland Fire Marshal’s Office at 281.997.4650. To report a firework incident, contact the Pearland Police Department dispatcher at 281.997.4316. To report an open burning, dial 9-1-1.
