You may have noticed a new sign below the Pearland population sign on Highway 288 that says “bird sanctuary.” After doing a little research, we can confirm that there is indeed a bird sanctuary located right here in Pearland!

Gulf Coast Exotic Bird Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit that provides permanent sanctuary and foster care for birds that are displaced by natural disasters or seized by other humane organizations do to inadequate husbandry practices. They have worked with such organizations as the Houston S.P.C.A, Global Federation Of Sanctuaries and Animal Rescue Corps.
