Nearby residents have reported that their rear license plate was stolen and swapped with a plate that didn’t belong to them.  How did the find out you may ask?  The Pearland Police Department pulled them over because the plate number didn’t match their vehicle description.  Why would people do this?  Well, criminals put the stolen plate on their car and commit a crime.  Witnesses take down the plate number and the the plate is tracked back to you not the criminal.

So on occasion, it may be a good idea to check your plates and make sure that the plates on your car have not been swapped.
