Pine Hollow HOA Meeting Update – May 1, 2013
Sharon Bradley was elected as our new Pine Hollow HOA representative.
At the Pine Hollow HOA meeting, it was announced that, contrary to the statement in the proxy that all proxies had to be submitted by April 30th, the Board chose to accept proxies at the meeting. This rule change was not communicated to residents, either in the proxy or in the reminder email the Board issued in days prior to the meeting. Therefore, only the Board and their candidate knew that proxies could be submitted at the meeting and accepted.
It was also discovered by residents who attempted to submit their proxies via email by the stated deadline that the management company’s email address on the proxy form was wrong. The error created the potential for legitimate proxies not to be received or counted, unbeknownst to the proxy holder.
Furthermore, the email address for the management company is not on the Pine Hollow HOA website.
Officer Vance reported that:
- Residents should be on the look-out for cars with paper tags. It has been reported that these types of vehicles have been known to be casing the area looking for people who are not home. The people involved will knock on the door to see if you are home; if you do not answer, they will go around the back and break-in
- There are also scams on the internet where people are renting out other people’s vacant homes.
The City of Pearland will be replacing the park equipment. Section 2 of the trails has been completed. A proposal for Section 3 trails is being reviewed.
The board is continuing to pursue stickers for all of the cars in Pine Hollow as a way to identify which cars belong to the subdivision.
The HOA is looking for volunteers to help with upcoming events. The next event is the Band in the Park on June 1st. Please contact the management company if you are interested in helping with the event or if you know of any good bands.
