One often neglected but very important part of hurricane preparedness is reviewing your insurance coverage.  Over the past several years, changes in coverage may have occurred.  A common misconception is that flood damage is covered under your Homeowners policy.  Most insurance companies require a separate policy for flood insurance that may have a 30 day waiting period.  Take this opportunity to review your policies with your insurance agent to make sure you have adequate coverage for your home.
