Mayor Tom Reid set to deliver 2015 State of the City

 

Mayor Tom Reid will deliver the annual State of the City address at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the First Church located at 1850 Broadway in Pearland. He will provide his vision and insight for 2016 and beyond at the annual event.
The ticketed event is open to the public and sponsored by the Pearland Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $25 for Chamber of Commerce members and $35 for prospective members. For more information, or to register, visit pearlandtx.gov/soc.
Be heard: Participate in 900 Seconds with the City Manager

Have your questions about Pearland economic development answered live during the 900 Seconds with the City Manager event. Using the Periscope application, residents can participate in a live discussion with City Manager Clay Pearson and City of Pearland staff. The City is currently accepting economic development-related questions. Residents who submit questions will be entered into a drawing to receive one of three City of Pearland gift packs! City plans drainage and pavement improvements

The City of Pearland has identified drainage and pavement improvements needed for portions of the Old Town Site area as part of the City’s strategic priority of ensuring a sustainable infrastructure.
Improvements and maintenance, such as asphalt resurfacing and drainage rehabilitation will be made over the next 4 years to the area located north of Broadway Street, south of Town Ditch, west of Old Alvin Road and east of SH 35. Read more about the planned improvements.
Citizen’s Police Academy accepting applications

The next class of the Pearland Citizens Police Academy (CPA) will begin on Feb. 4. Classes are held on Thursdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for 12 weeks at the Pearland Public Safety and Municipal Courts Building on Cullen Parkway.
CPA classes educate residents on law enforcement practices, and include instruction on: Crime Prevention, Officer Survival, Patrol Procedures, SWAT, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, Traffic Laws and more.

 Join the ranks of Pearland Fire Department

Become a Pearland firefighter and join the ranks of the brave men and women who serve the Pearland community. The Pearland Fire Department is accepting applications for part-time firefighter/EMT’s, and full-time firefighter/paramedics.
The application deadline is Jan. 22. Visit pearlandtx.gov/firerecruit for eligibility requirements.
