Activate your new program registration account today

Parks & Recreation has launched a new online registration system that improves account management and registration for program participants. The new software provides access to review registrations, change contact information, reprint receipts and obtain documents at your convenience. Additional improvements include the ability to request pavilion or banquet hall rentals, the option to receive email notifications for the courses you choose and enhanced calendar functions, such as exporting a family schedule to your smart phone. 
Fall program registration begins Aug. 10. You must establish a new account, login and password before registering. Visit and click on the Create a New Account button to get started.
Come celebrate as our facility turns 5!

The Recreation Center & Natatorium is turning 5 and to celebrate we’re throwing a party! Bring the whole family out on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for inflatables, free classes for children and adults, membership specials and a health fair. Admission is free and membership is not required.

Group exercise instructors: We need you

The Parks & Recreation Department is looking for qualified group exercise instructors to lead safe and fun classes, provide excellent customer service and promote health and wellness at the Recreation Center & Natatorium (4141 Bailey Rd.). A Group Exercise Instructor Certification from ACE, AFAA or other nationally accredited specialty class certification program is required. Qualified instructors should contact the Fitness Recreation Specialist at 281.412.8919.
Gymnasium floor repairs scheduled

The Recreation Center gymnasium will be closed from Monday, Aug. 31 through Thursday, Sept. 3 for floor maintenance. All other facility amenities will be available during normal business hours. We apologize for any inconvenience the closure may cause. To view the complete list of closures, visit The gym will reopen on Friday, Sept. 4.
Learn about birding this fall

Texas hosts more species of birds than any other state in the U.S. and Brazoria County has more bird species than any area in North America. In our Beginning Birding class, participants will learn how to select binoculars and field guides, how to identify birds using field marks, songs and behavior; and the ways to get more involved. Class participants will go on field trips in the Pearland area, to practice their skills. Visit the outdoor recreation Web page to learn more.

Register for summer youth gymnastics camp

Join us for youth gymnastics camp with Pearland Gymnastics Academy located at 4102 Veterans Drive. The one week camp, held Aug. 17 – 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes gymnastics instruction, contests, arts & crafts, movies and games. The camp is open for boys and girls, ages 5 to 10 years old. Campers will need to bring a sack lunch and drink each day. Visit or call 281.412.8900 to register.
Become a Certified Water Safety Instructor

If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. It’s a fun and meaningful job that’s in high demand. Pearland Parks & Recreation is offering the training for $325 at the Recreation Center & Natatorium located at 4141 Bailey Rd. The 3 day course will be held August 9, 15 and 16 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Participants must attend all 3 days. For more information, visit or call 281.412.8900.
